Gil Bonnet & Sons was also one of the first authorized Rado dealers in Sierre, reflecting a lasting relationship of trust with prestigious brands.
Today, the family tradition continues with Alain Bonnet, supported by a passionate team made up of two qualified saleswomen and a watchmaker-repair specialist. Together, they carry on the excellence and high standards that have made the house renowned. Although no longer involved in day-to-day management, Gil Bonnet remains a pillar of the company, still bringing his expert eye. In 2019, the house proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary.

History and key moments
The history of Gil Bonnet & Sons is marked by significant events that have shaped its identity. Here are a few images.
1965
Gil Bonnet arrives in Sierre and works in a local jewelry store for four years. His experience and passion for watchmaking lead him to dream of opening his own business.
December 1969
After several years of preparation and fundraising, he opens his first store at Route de Sion 4, bringing Sierre an excellent watchmaking service.
February 1974
The store experiences its first expansion and moves to Avenue Général-Guisan to offer a more welcoming and better located space.
1970
The arrival of quartz disrupts the watch market. Initially skeptical, Gil Bonnet adapts by training in new technologies and becomes an expert in quartz watch repair, thereby ensuring the long-term future of his business.
1991
A new turning point comes with the move to larger 120m² premises, formerly occupied by Credit Suisse. A complete transformation of the jewelry store makes it possible to expand the offer and improve customer comfort.
August 1996
Alain Bonnet, the founder’s son, joins the company after completing rigorous training at the La Chaux-de-Fonds Watchmaking School. His arrival marks the beginning of a new era for the Gil Bonnet & Sons house.
January 2002
To reflect the generational transition and affirm the family commitment, the company officially becomes Gil Bonnet & Sons.
2010s
The rise of smartwatches is changing consumer habits. True to its commitment to traditional watchmaking and quality, Gil Bonnet continues to favor mechanical and quartz watches, highlighting their timeless craftsmanship and lasting value.
October 2017
The jewelry store undergoes a complete renovation to modernize the sales area and workshop, while preserving the authenticity that made it successful.
2017
Launch of the online store, allowing Gil Bonnet & Sons to offer its watches and jewelry to a wider clientele while maintaining its personalized approach.
Since 2017
Annual presence at the Foire du Valais with a stand dedicated to Tissot watches, strengthening closeness with customers and the house’s visibility among the general public.
2019
The company celebrates its 50th anniversary, a major milestone that reflects its roots in the region and the loyalty of its customers.
2020
The Covid-19 pandemic forces the store to close temporarily. Despite this difficult period, the company adapts to new consumer habits and strengthens its after-sales service to continue meeting its customers’ expectations.
2022
The brand evolves and modernizes its image with a complete redesign of its logo, symbolizing its commitment to innovation while remaining true to its heritage.
2025
The new website goes live, created with Pyxa. This project reflects the company’s desire to combine tradition and innovation by offering a digital showcase worthy of its watchmaking and jewelry expertise.
